Sharnece Thomas, MA, NCC, LPC is a licensed professional counselor specializing in individual, couples, family and group therapy. Sharnece graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and Argosy University with her Master's Degree in Mental Health Counseling with additional education received in the area of Marriage and Family Therapy.
Sharnece's approach to counseling is that each individual possesses strengths and skills necessary to work through their problems. She assists her clients in further developing their skills and using their strengths to work through their difficulties while developing a positive outlook on life. Sharnece emphasizes meeting each client where they are in life and helping them get to where they would like to be.
Sharnece specializes in therapy with children and adolescents, adults, families and couples. She is experienced in applying cognitive behavioral therapy, solution focused therapy, play therapy and person centered therapy techniques. Sharnece also uses an integrative counseling approach utilizing techniques from different therapeutic approaches to assist the client in reaching their goals. Sharnece has worked with a variety of mental health conditions including ADHD, Conduct Disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorders, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Adjustment Disorders, Depression, and Anxiety. She has also worked with a variety of presenting problems including Grief and Loss, Bullying, Domestic Violence, Child abuse, Substance abuse, Parenting difficulty, Self-esteem, and Family Relationship difficulties.
